This workout focuses on switching from harmonic minor to major scales. We actually use the Locrian #6 mode which is the mode found on the 2nd degree of a harmonic minor scale. When playing this mode over a II V 7 chord progression, the b5 of the II chord and the #5 and b9 of the V7 chord are emphasized.  This is especially useful for hearing altered tones. This exercise will develop technique, fretboard knowledge, theory and your ear.  17 minute video with two practice tracks and PDF music in tab and notation.
