Written by Paul Desmond, this jazz standard was first made popular by the Dave Brubeck Quartet. Amazingly the song shot up the charts even though being in a 5/4 time signature. The recording remained their biggest hit and signature tune and they rerecorded it several times with Brubeck adding lyrics as well.
