Who said jazz guitar is hard? This lesson will show just how easy it can be! Redundant chord fingerings simply means that one chord shape and fingering can be used to produce multiple chord types as well as names. By just moving the shape to the proper fret a completely different chord name and type can be produced. In this lesson Rich takes a three note chord with one fingering and produces min6th, min7b5, Dominant7 and Dom7b9 chords. Knowledge of chord theory is helpful but not necessary to enjoy this lesson. To help you begin to understand the theory behind this concept the PDF music will show the chord factors names and their function. Chord grids will help you visualize the shapes as we play through a comping arrangement of the jazz standard "You and the Night and the Music". Includes Mp3 track and PDF in Chord grids and tab. 30 minute video demonstrated slowly and close up by measure then rehearsed in sections.
