Understanding Harmonic Progressions Part 1 MAJOR KEYS
This lesson presents common progressions in the key of C Major using the traditional method of diagramming chords with Roman Numerals. Rich talks you through each progression with explanations on each of the diatonic chords and each of the twelve progressions. Your assignment is to print the workbook and fill in the chord names in the next key, check your answers with the "Answer Key" and play through each progression, listening to the sound of each chord and its relationship to the next. Moving through the workbook you will start to develop your ear and memorize the chords of common progressions of new each key. The final assignment is to take the 14 progressions diagrammed only with numbers and play the progressions in several keys.
