Alone Together is a jazz standard from a 1932 Broadway play that has been recorded by many top jazz artists through the years. Because of the song's many 2 5 1 progressions in minor it has a rather dark sound. The "A" sections have a surprise cadence which resolves to major in the last two bars of the section. This modal interchange makes it a favorite among jazz players. This is a great tune to practice improv in minor giving you opportunities to explore licks with Harmonic Minor & Diminished scales and arpeggios. A great addition to your repertoire as it is often called at jam sessions. 34 minute M4v video demonstrated slowly with close ups by measure then rehearsed in sections. Printable PDF in tab and notation with Mp3 performance/practice track.
