CARAVAN |
|
Caravan, first performed by Duke Ellington in 1936, is a fun chord melody. Like the name implies, it has that Hollywood Arabic style with a catchy, haunting melody. Because of its chromatic phases it’s not as difficult to play as it sounds. The A section of the song is built around an altered dominant sound which builds tension and gives an improviser lots of time to develop their altered dominant jazz lines. The song is a must for all jazz guitarists, so here's your chance to add it to your repertoire. 23 minute video with close ups demonstrated slowly by measure and rehearsed by section. Lesson includes PDF in chord grids and notation plus Mp3 practice tracks in two different tempos.
