The bebop tune "Django" was written by John Lewis of the Modern Jazz Quartet and was introduced to guitar players by Joe Pass on his "For Django" album. The TheTTTTTTTTTTTTT song starts and ends with this rubato prelude section that can stand alone as a beautiful piece. This tune can be played solo or with a rhythm section. (On the original recording the tune breaks into several uptempo sections of improvisation after the prelude.) 22 minute video lesson demonstrates the prelude chord melody slowly and close up and also discusses some of the reharmonizations.
