Here's a concept that reduces the thought process of developing a jazz line down to one note! Encasement is a simple theory however this two part lesson should be titled extreme encasement. We'll explore how to take a target note and by using its neighboring notes we can create a longer musical phrase. If we use multiple target notes that phrase can be developed into a rich jazz line. We will also explore deceptive encasement and pivot notes and cells.
