This 60's jazz waltz is considered a modern jazz standard composed by Wayne Shorter. This set includes 6 lessons for this 12 bar Cmin blues in 3/4 time with an avant garde turnaround that is fun to play. The chord melody arrangement is harmonized in fourths for a modern jazz sound. A simple comping version uses Rich's Dirty Dozen Jazz Chords. The 3 solos are simple enough for the novice yet interesting enough for the pro. The solos use lots of outside sounds exploring melodic minor scale and its arpeggios, and the dorian mode. In the improv insights lesson Rich will show you how to utilize melodic minor over the chord changes of the tune and how to use the melodic minor scale to setup and reaffirm tonality. This idea will give you many soloing options to use over this minor blues chord progression in 3/4 time. A total of 2 hours and 10 minutes of video instruction with fretboard close ups, demonstrated slowly by measure then rehearsed by section. Includes PDFs in tab and notation plus real book chart and Mp3 practice and performance tracks.
Includes all of the following lessons.
