Chock full of explanations, illustrations and demonstrations starting with the fundamentals, focusing on the "Major" sound quality or family. Using the "E" shape in the key of "G" we start with major scale construction, labeling each scale degree and the upper partial equivalents. Moving on to "Speed Picking" aka "Economy Picking," a technique I learned after playing 20 years and wish I had learned from the beginning. Then we're exploring a "Slurred" fingering of the scale. This is a technique frowned upon by jazz guitar purest but offers minimal effort and a soulful way of playing. This is similar to Wes Montgomery's style of playing single notes. Next we'll play the scale in octaves which is a must for jazz guitarist again a technique coined by Wes Montgomery. Finally there are written assignments for you to write music, fill in the tab staff, label and circle target note. These will help develop your reading ability and knowledge of music theory. 50+ minute video with close ups, rehearsed slowly with printable PDF in tab and notation.
